Festive menu launched at coastal restaurant in Polzeath

Published December 17th, 2021

The Atlantic, Harbour Brewing’s clifftop restaurant and bar in New Polzeath, Cornwall, has launched its menu for the holiday season.

Head chef, Grant Goodson, has developed a new five course tasting menu which champions the best produce from the area.

Grant said: “We’ve designed the menu with the festive season in mind, using local, seasonal ingredients including the fantastic vegetables available at this time of year, and fresh Cornish fish. Guests will be able to indulge in our take on Christmas classics such as Christmas pudding with charcoal ice cream, or try something new like turkey rotolo with spiced apricots and ‘nduja.

“We have some great vegetarian dishes including a cabbage roll with almond purée and ash roasted beetroot, all with an Italian influence that you would expect from The Atlantic.”

The tasting menu includes highlights of an entrée of Porthilly oysters, harvested just three miles down the coast from the restaurant; salmon gravlax with beetroot and vodka, crème fraîche and buckwheat; Cornish monkfish and Sicilian peperonata with oregano and samphire; and a chocolate nemesis with pistachio ice cream.

A cocktail menu has been created for guests to enjoy alongside the feast. Highlights include a Caramel Espresso Martini; Marmalade Negroni; and a Winter Fizz with cranberry, triple sec and Prosecco. Alternatively, dishes can be paired with a well-curated wine list or Harbour’s wide range of food-friendly beers.

The festive feast is running from now until the 24th December, for £45 per head. Service runs from 5pm to 9pm, with tables of up to eight available.

The restaurant will be open from 10am to 2pm on Boxing Day serving brunch. Highlights include banana and peanut butter waffles, sweetcorn fritters with arrabbiata sauce, and steak and eggs with potato hash. Guests have the option to make this a bottomless brunch for £25 per head.
