Instagram and iPhone food photography workshops hosted in Cornwall

Published March 20th, 2018

We are hosting two iPhone and Instagram food photography workshops this May.

Following two sell-out workshops in 2017, we have invited Matt Inwood back to Cornwall for two day-long workshops on Monday 14 and Tuesday 15 May 2018 at Appleton’s near Padstow.

Matt will be returning to the county to share his knowledge of how to take better images using a smartphone in a comprehensive tutorial, with tickets limited to 25 people per class.

Matt is a designer and art director with 17 years experience in cookery book publishing, having worked with Tom Kerridge, Masterchef and Marmite, and smartphone photography is now a major strand in his work, predominantly using food as a subject.

Of the workshops, Matt said: “I passionately believe that Instagram and social media are the best and most easily available marketing tools there are right now and I don’t think there’s a business out there that won’t flourish if they take care in maintaining their feed.

“The workshops explore the whole of Instagram, from taking pictures to editing the content and publishing and sharing on the app. They will help in all aspects of growing businesses on social media, and will help them re-evaluate the way they use it.”

Ellie Michell, Director at Barefoot Media, said: “Posting high quality images on Instagram is such a simple but powerful marketing tool, and we wanted to share that with businesses in Cornwall which might not have tapped into it yet, and people who don’t feel confident in their abilities, or perhaps aren’t using it to its full potential.

“We are so thrilled to be welcoming Matt Inwood to the beautiful Appleton’s following the success of last year’s workshops, as the positive feedback we received from participants was quite overwhelming. The quality of the Instagram posts of those who attended improved noticeably following the course.”

The sessions will be particularly beneficial for employees within the hospitality and food and drink sectors, including chefs, waiting staff, marketeers and bloggers.

Tickets for the course are priced at £80 plus VAT and booking fee, and include a two course lunch and a glass of wine. Refreshments will also be provided throughout the day and sessions will run from 9.30am to 3pm.

Students are required to bring their own camera phone or tablet with a fully charged battery and an up-to-date Instagram account and, if they are food producers, samples of their products to photograph during the practical session.

A limited number of tickets are now available for both workshops and can be purchased from Eventbrite via the links below:
