Renaissance Pubs renamed as Three Cheers Pub Co

Published April 27th, 2015

Renaissance Pubs has undergone a rebrand and from today becomes Three Cheers Pub Co. The change takes place following a trademark dispute.

The south London pub group has launched a programme of activity to celebrate the new name. Exciting additions to its food and drink offering include the launch of a Summer Pale Ale and a range of bespoke charcuterie, as well as a new weekend Table Menu, cocktails and small batch, home-produced elderflower cordial.

Co-founder and operations director Mark Reynolds said: “We were instantly drawn to the new name – Three Cheers Pub Co. It’s different and stands out from the competition, and we are looking forward to sharing it with our customers.

“The rename and rebrand have also been a brilliant opportunity to look at the business as a whole: carry out some renovations on our older sites, introduce more structure and make some great additions to our menus.”

Renaissance Pubs was founded in 2003 and is owned by three childhood friends: Tom Peake, Mark Reynolds and Nick Fox. The group celebrated its tenth anniversary in 2013.

Mark Reynolds worked closely with Sim Cotton and his team at The London Beer Factory to come up with a session-friendly cask ale perfect for al fresco drinking. The Three Cheers Pub Co Summer Pale Ale (3.8% ABV) is exclusive to the group’s seven pubs, and available for the next three months priced at £3.00 per pint or 330ml bottle before 7pm, Monday to Friday, and £3.75 at other times.

The group’s executive chef, Massimo Tebaldi, has collaborated with Moons Green Charcuterie’s John Doig and Jose Azevedo to develop bespoke lomo and coppa recipes, taking flavour inspiration from his childhood in Liguria, Italy.

The new chilli lomo is cured and flavoured with paprika and chilli, while the coppa has a final cure of thyme and rosemary. The two recipes, exclusive to Three Cheers Pub Co menus, will accompany Moons Green fennel salami, and their spicy salt and pepper beer sticks, which as the name suggests are perfect with a pint.

Executive chef Massimo Tebaldi said: “We have had fun making some updates to our food offering, and are very excited to be launching our bespoke charcuterie and new Table Menu for weekend lunchtimes.

“People love to sit, chat, and share food and drink with friends and family. The idea behind our new Table Menu is to create a meal for the whole table to share, at a great price per head.”

The Table Menu celebrates communal dining, and the tradition of feasting with friends and family, and will be available across all sites. Priced at £25 per head, for a minimum of four people, the menu will include a selection of charcuterie to start, a large roast chicken with all the trimmings, and a giant apple pie with custard for pudding.

As well as the new Summer Pale Ale, the pubs’ drinks menus will also feature new cocktails – the three favourite cocktails of the three founders, renamed as The Peake, The Fox and a Bloody Reynolds, as well as a British Mojito with elderflower cordial as a key ingredient. Mark Reynolds and his wife Laura are producing the cordial with elderflowers from their Hampshire garden, which will be available across the sites later this spring.

The new name and the additions to the menus will be communicated to the pubs’ customers through traditional means: directly from managers and floor staff; printed materials at the sites; as well as through email marketing and social media. The group will also be running a series of competitions and offers via their digital channels over the summer months highlighting the name change.
