A Cornish farmstay is inviting families to experience lambing first-hand this February and March.
The Olde House, based close to Polzeath in North Cornwall, will be offering visitors the chance to learn about farm life during a ‘Lucky Lambing’ weekend, from Friday 23 to Sunday 25 February 2018. Children will be able to feed the newborns, learn about the process from the farm team, and have lots of cuddles with fluffy lambs.
Jaime Hawkey, manager at The Olde House, commented: “The lambing experiences offer both children and parents a great opportunity to escape to the country and learn more about life on a Cornish farm.
“Our Lucky Lambing weekend package includes a two night stay with a late checkout available on Sunday which means you can make the most of your weekend without having to miss work or school.”
Families will also be given the opportunity to meet the new arrivals with lambing tours during February half term, from Saturday 10 February.
With Cornwall’s mild climate and due to its close proximity to the Camel Estuary, The Olde House boasts two lambing seasons, one in November/December, and another in February/March. Around 520 lambs are expected to be born during the first lambing season of 2018, with around 35 of these to be triplets.
There are 30 self-catering cottages on the 550 acre farm, sleeping between two and ten people. As well as the animals, guests at The Olde House can enjoy outdoor and indoor play areas, farm trails, a brand new indoor swimming pool complex, a bird hide, and much more.
Over the Lucky Lambing weekend any two or three bedroom cottage is available for £25o, staying Friday to Sunday, with a late checkout of 6pm. To book, call 01208 813219.
