Following the success of the sell-out Tate Modern Tap Takeover events, this summer Tate will be extending the series to Tate St Ives, to celebrate local Cornish craft beer.
Kicking off on Thursday 28 June with an evening of beer, barbecue and beats, the first Tate St Ives Sunset Tap Takeover will be a collaboration with Harbour Brewing Co., hosted on the Café Terrace.
Tate Tap Takeovers provide a fun and informal space for beer makers and beer lovers to enjoy the best of the UK’s brews with tastings, talks and activities. Tate are very much looking forward to opening this up to Cornwall beer enthusiasts and showcasing the best of the West Country craft breweries.
Tate has a long association and friendship with Cornwall-based Harbour Brewing Co., and are therefore delighted to host the first ever Tate St Ives Tap Takeover with them.
Local DJs will keep guests entertained as the sun sets, while a selection of Harbour’s beers, including Ellensberg Session IPA, Unfiltered Helles, and Antipodean IPA, will be in full flow.
Tickets are priced at £15 per person, which includes a flight of three Harbour beers, access to the terrace, and the opportunity to explore Tate St Ive’s “Modern Art and St Ives” and “Patrick Heron” exhibitions, after the gallery has closed to the public.
Food will be courtesy of Cornish barbecue extraordinaire Mac’s BBQ, who will be creating dishes paired expertly with the beers on offer.
Tickets can be booked via the Tate website: http://www.tate.org.uk/whats-on/tate-st-ives/food-and-drink/sunset-tap-takeover-harbour-brewing-co.
