A Cornish PR and marketing agency has won two awards at this year’s South of England and Channel Islands PRide Awards.
Barefoot Media was awarded gold for Regional Campaign of the Year, and silver for Best Use of Media Relations at the black tie ceremony in Bristol in November.
The awards are judged by leading PR experts and celebrate the outstanding public relations and digital marketing work achieved across the UK’s regions.
Both awards were presented for Barefoot Media’s work on Padstow Christmas Festival’s 2016 event.
Jim Michell, managing director of Barefoot Media, said: “I’m hugely proud of the hard work our team puts in for all our clients every day. While it’s hard to single out one particular campaign to put forward for the awards, Padstow Christmas Festival is an event that makes a huge impact on the businesses in the town, and it feels great to have been able to contribute to the ongoing success of the festival.”
Barefoot Media has worked with Padstow Christmas Festival for six years, playing an integral part in the growth of the event, which has become one of the most popular food and drink festivals in the South West.
In 2016 the event attracted over 50,000 visitors to the harbour town for the four-day festival, who enjoyed the South West’s finest food, drink and craft producers, alongside cooking demonstrations from the UK’s top chefs and discussions with industry experts.
Of the gold Regional Campaign of the Year award, the judging panel said: “The grassroots campaign put more than 60 high-profile chefs and 100 producers at its heart.
“The six-month campaign delivered increased footfall during the festival weekend through partnerships with Cornwall Today, and the Cornish Guardian; and social media activity by chefs including Rick Stein, Paul Ainsworth, and Nathan Outlaw.”
This is the seventh year that Barefoot Media has enjoyed success at the awards, having won nine gold and four silver awards since 2010, including Outstanding Small Consultancy in 2013 and 2014.
