Cornish PR and digital marketing agency Barefoot Media has been shortlisted for four awards in the 2019 Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) PRide Awards.
Founded in 2002 by Jim and Ellie Michell, Barefoot is the only Cornish consultancy to be shortlisted in this year’s awards.
Managing director Jim Michell said, “The CIPR PRide Awards is a highly competitive scheme, so to be shortlisted amongst many of the region’s leading agencies is a real honour.
“Last year’s awards event was very successful for Barefoot, coming away with four awards including Outstanding Small Public Relations Consultancy for the South of England and Channel Islands region.
“Following significant business growth and continued success for our clients over the last year, we’re thrilled to be shortlisted for the title of the Outstanding PR Consultancy for 2019.”
To be eligible for the Outstanding PR Consultancy award, agencies must demonstrate a well-rounded, sustainable business model, dedication to staff development, and have a proven track record of delivering successful public relations campaigns for their clients.
Barefoot has also been shortlisted in three categories for their work on the Hospitality Hacks campaign, which was delivered on behalf of not-for-profit Be the Business. These include:
Using an integrated marketing approach, the Hospitality Hacks campaign involved devising the concept for, promoting, and delivering an awards scheme that would encourage the sharing of ideas to increase productivity in Cornwall’s hospitality sector.
Organised by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, the South of England and Channel Islands PRide Awards is open to agencies and in-house teams based in 13 counties, spanning from Cornwall in the west to Kent in the south east, taking in Bristol, the Channel Islands, and the Isle of Wight.
With an eight-strong team of PR and digital marketing specialists, Barefoot’s services include public relations, website development, social media, email marketing, content creation, events management, and photography.
The agency works across a range of clients, spanning across the tourism, food and drink, property and interiors sectors.
The award winners will be announced at a black tie ceremony in Bristol on 8 November 2019.
