In honour of the Rio Olympics, leading gastropub The Latchmere in Battersea will host a rum and cachaça pop up bar in its beautiful beer garden.
From Friday 12th to Sunday 14th of August, on what’s set to be the most successful sporting weekend for Team GB, caipirinhas, caipiroskas and Brazilian cervejas will be the order of the day accompanied by some Brazilian BBQ street food.
With over 20 rums and cachacas on offer, including the artisan Abelha organic cachaça silver, handcrafted in the highlands of Bahia, Brazil, Velho Barrerio, a traditional cachaça made from double distilling sugar cane juice and Santa Teresa 1796, believed to be South America’s best rum, there’s bound to be something to get you in the carnival mood. Shots start at £4 and cocktails just £8.50.
The alfresco grill will be serving top quality South American beef, fresh fish, free-range pork ribs and a selection of salads. Feast on the fantastic food and drink as you cheer on Team GB* via the large plasma screens inside and out the pub.
The rum and cachaça pop up party will run from 1pm until 10pm each day. The British weather will not dampen the Brazilian vibe as the stylish garden at The Latchmere is both covered and heated. Gold medals for us!
Throughout the three days the usual selection of drinks will be on offer inside The Latchmere, including bottled and draught beers and ciders, wines, and spirits, with the regular food menus available at specific times too.
