An artisan rapeseed oil producer has launched a new range of flavoured oils.
Mrs Middleton’s cold-pressed rapeseed oil, which has just been awarded a gold star in the 2014 Great Taste Awards, now comes in five varieties: original, chilli, lemon, garlic and basil.
The new range will be launched at the Speciality and Fine Food Fair in London between 7 and 9 September 2014 and are available in 250ml glass bottles.
Mrs Middleton’s cold-pressed rapeseed oil was established in Autumn 2012 by sisters Whizz Middleton and Ellie Michell. The seed is grown on the family farm in Bedfordshire which surrounds the Barton Hills Nature Reserve.
Whizz Middleton said: “After lots of taste testing, we’ve settled on our four flavours and they’re delicious. They’re made by combining rapeseed oil with pure essential oils and they’re perfect for drizzles and dipping as well as cooking. “
They add an extra dimension to our original oil. The garlic flavour makes fantastic roast potatoes; the lemon is perfect for salad dressings; chilli is great on pizzas and the basil makes a wonderfully intense pesto.”
The flavours are being launched shortly after the original Mrs Middleton’s Cold-Pressed Rapeseed Oil received its first gold star in the 2014 Great Taste Awards.
The judges described the oil as “beautiful” and “very smooth”, “nutty – almost almondy” and “an excellent all-round oil, clean and refreshing” with “no bitter aftertaste”.
Mrs Middleton’s Ltd can be found on stand V136 at the Speciality and Fine Food Fair and samples will be available.
The new flavoured oils will be distributed in the South East by Medallion. All four flavours (chilli, lemon, garlic and basil) are available in boxes of nine priced at £25 per box wholesale (£2.78 per bottle wholesale, RRP £4.50).
The individual bottles have an RRP of £4.50 each and are available to buy online at www.mrsmiddleton.co.uk. A gift pack containing all four flavours can be bought for £15.
