One of Cornwall’s leading housing developers Gilbert and Goode has appointed Claire Davis as its newest board member.
Claire brings 30 years’ experience to the St Austell-based business, having worked in the social and affordable housing sector both in the UK and internationally. She will be providing a strong oversight into the company’s decisions. A chartered accountant, Claire’s prior senior management roles have included finance director and director of corporate services. She brings a wealth of knowledge from this previous experience, having delivered a range of services including finance, HR, IT and risk management. She is now combining her work as an executive coach with her non-executive director roles. Claire says: “I’m really excited to get started with an organisation that has such ambitious plans for the coming year. “It is great to be part of the UK housing sector again and be part of a company that is providing high-quality homes for the people of Cornwall.” Gilbert and Goode builds both open market and affordable homes, and has been part of the Ocean Housing Group since 2005. The company is on track to build 125 properties this year. Its main focus is to be a profitable and sustainable residential developer which contributes to the charitable aims of the group.
