A new luxury couples holiday cottage in St Ives, Cornwall has recently completed renovations and released photos of the interior ahead of its opening this summer.
Situated on the beachfront in the heart of St Ives, The Balcony Studio will open its doors to guests on the 18 July after having completed an extensive restoration project into a high-end coastal holiday destination.
The Balcony Studio currently has a limited number of slots available for press trips in a dedicated review window from the 9 to 18 July 2022. Where possible, trips outside of this period may also be considered.
Owner, David Baxendale, said: “It’s so exciting to see The Balcony Studio finally come to life after having spent so long painstakingly restoring it. The team have worked hard to retain and re-use the original features and materials where possible to respect its unique history and beautiful characteristics.
“The Balcony Studio is in one of the best locations in town and we’re so looking forward to welcoming people to visit and enjoy their holidays here.”
The recent photoshoot shows off the studio’s impressive harbour location, stunning sea views, and luxurious interiors.
Past the private balcony and remote controlled curtains, the spectacular master bedroom and king-size four poster bed offer unbeatable sea views over St Ives Bay towards Godrevy Lighthouse.
Occupying the entire lower floor, the spa bathroom is home to two rainfall showers and couples wash basins, a wetsuit shower and drying room, and the showcase handmade William Holland Alvius spa bath big enough to fit four. Natural light in the bathroom is provided by an original porthole window and glass ceiling panels that look up into the bedroom.
The property also has a small snug, kitchen and separate toilet at the rear.
A year round destination, The Balcony Studio is the perfect summer stay as well as a cosy winter bolthole. In the winter, sea storms will offer a spectacular show as the cottage regularly sees waves crashing over the balcony and against the specially designed windows.
The Grade-II listed cottage is steeped in history, once being home to a sea captain, as well as a studio for several artists such as Pauline Hewitt and Patrick Heron. Most recently, the property was owned by children’s author, Philip Moran. Pieces and art from its previous owners will be featured throughout the property.
A percentage of profits from The Balcony Studio will be donated to the RNLI each year.
The Balcony Studio will be available to book on www.thebalconystudio.co.uk and Airbnb from 18 July 2022, with prices starting from £175 per night in low season, to £310 in high season.
