One of the original and most notable gin palaces, The Princess Victoria in Shepherd’s Bush, has officially gone up in the world with the opening of five stunning hotel rooms above.
Located just ten minutes away from London’s vibrant Holland Park and Notting Hill, The Princess Victoria, owned by the award-winning Three Cheers Pub Co, was originally built in 1829. Today, The Princess Victoria celebrates its rich history with five new gin inspired boutique bedrooms, each named after classic gin cocktails, featuring bespoke gin botanical art. The first 100 guests even receive a complimentary gin* especially chosen from the carefully curated list of over 100 artisan and big names gins served in the beautiful bar downstairs.
Choose to stay in either the Negroni, Bramble, Vesper, Gibson or Bronx luxury bedrooms, all of which exude elegance and sophistication just as the striking, original 1820s gin palaces did.
Unified by their attention to detail, each double bedroom is en-suite and features everything you need for a stylish city break. The highest quality Shakespeare pocket sprung beds have the downiest duvets and soft Egyptian cotton sheets. Bathrooms feature huge rain showers, there are HD smart televisions, free WiFi, Nespresso machines, mini-fridges, black-out blinds and hairdryers are on hand for those who like their home comforts. Guests can choose between King, Queen and Twin rooms. Business travellers can opt for rooms with desk space.
Designed by co-owner Tom Peake, the bedrooms are defined by their bold use of colour. Hague blue or off-white walls, contrast with flashes of gold or emerald green, anchored by bespoke walnut wardrobes and desks, illuminated by stunning contemporary lighting. Each room possesses its own design features such as Genoese gold side tables, a Rockett St George leather chair, or vintage travel rack whilst bright, graphic gin inspired art from the Adam Ellis studio runs throughout.
Mindful of guests’ busy schedules, breakfast is served in-room Monday to Friday and in the pub from 8.30am at the weekends. Delicious Saturday and Sunday dishesv include a chia seed, yoghurt, granola and red berry pot, Turkish baked eggs with tomato, peppers, onion, chilli and yoghurt, the all-important Full English and its fast approaching breakfast rival, smashed avocado with poached egg and sourdough. Those wanting to start the day in style can go bottomless from 10am on a Saturday. Enjoy unlimited prosecco or Bloody Mary for two hours for just £15.
Beneath the bedrooms, The Princess Victoria is host to an award-winning bar and dining room, complete with alfresco front terrace and enchanting rear courtyard garden. There is also a beautiful private room on the second floor making The Princess Victoria the ideal space for a wedding or big celebration for true gin fans.
All rooms cost £119 and include breakfast. Bookings can be taken via www.princessvictoria.co.uk/princess-victoria-rooms/book-a-room or by phoning the pub direct on 020 8749 4466.
The Princess Victoria hotel rooms are owned by school friends Tom Peake, Mark Reynolds and Nick Fox responsible for Three Cheers Pub Co** who own eight London pubs. This is their second step into the travel business, following their huge success with the boutique bedrooms at The Tommyfield in Kennington Cross. 2018 will see the opening of their biggest hotel to date.
