Ocean Housing Group has appointed a new chair of its board, as well as welcoming new members to its subsidiary boards and committees.
Jonathan Adlington has been named chair of the Ocean Housing Group Board, having previously been the chair of the Gilbert & Goode Board since November 2016. He has taken over from Debbie Wilshire, who was in the post since January 2018.
As a retired senior partner of law firm Trowers & Hamlins, and a previous member of the Regulation Committee of the Homes and Communities Agency, Jonathan has a wealth of experience in commercial property and social housing.
Mark Gardner, chief executive of Ocean Housing Group, said: “We welcome Jonathan to his new role. He is a legal expert and true leader in the field of social housing, making him an ideal successor to the role.
“I would like to thank Debbie for her three years of service as chair of the group board. As a valued member of the group, I am delighted she has agreed to stay on in a new capacity as senior independent board member.”
Replacing Jonathan as chair of the Gilbert & Goode Board is Chris Spencer, who therefore also becomes a member of the Ocean Housing Group Board.
The Gilbert & Goode Board has also welcomed two brand new members, John Titcombe and Darren Jones. Both have more than 35 years’ experience in property, development, and construction, and now work as consultants in the industry.
Further changes include Rachel Bayliss and Chris Grose becoming members of both the Ocean Housing Ltd Board and the Group Audit, Risk and Assurance Committee.
Jonathan Adlington said: “I am honoured to take on my new role as group chair, and look forward to working with the rest of the board to ensure we are effective in setting out and implementing the company’s direction and strategy.
“Our vision is to be a provider of high quality homes and services, with residents and staff at the heart of Ocean, and Ocean at the heart of the community.”
