Cornish Deli and Kitchen, Sabzi, known for its innovative daily menus showcasing simple and affordable ingredients, will open two new locations in Padstow and Nansledan this summer.
With a focus on quality, humble ingredients, making great food accessible, and promoting Cornish employment, Sabzi’s expansion will positively impact both locals and tourists.
Sabzi, which currently has sites in Truro and Falmouth, was founded by chef Kate Attlee.
“At Sabzi, we believe that quality ingredients and affordability should go hand in hand,” said Kate.
“We are excited to bring our concept of innovative, daily-changing dishes to Padstow and Nansledan, celebrating the art of creativity and seasonality with our food. By championing sustainable practices and creating employment opportunities for the local community, we aim to make Sabzi a cornerstone of the ever-growing South West food scene”.
Renowned for its vibrant culinary scene and picturesque harbour, Padstow welcomes Sabzi to its extensive food and drink landscape. Nestled in the heart of the town, the new deli on Duke Street, which is due to open on 1 August, will offer a fresh and unique array of budget-friendly, healthy, and delicious food options made with seasonal produce.
Visitors can expect a daily-changing menu of takeaway and dine-in dishes that showcase Sabzi’s creativity and commitment to getting the most flavour from every ingredient.
Kate adds: “Padstow is a town dominated by fantastic, and extremely well-known, male chefs. As a mixed race woman who has grown up in Cornwall, trained at Michelin Star level in service, honed my chefing skills on Masterchef and has now opened my own food business, I take pride in helping to diversify the culinary landscape. Sabzi’s journey is not about competing, but rather adding a unique flavour to this vibrant town as well as encouraging other female chefs to challenge the status quo.”
The Nansledan development, located on the outskirts of Newquay, provides an ideal setting for Sabzi’s fourth establishment, opening in September. Known for its sustainable practices and community-focused ethos, Nansledan aligns perfectly with the deli’s core values. The Nansledan location will offer eat-in and takeaway options at an everyday price point without compromising on quality or flavour. Customers can look forward to a variety of creative dishes, as well as a vibrant restaurant that will act as a hub within the community.
Sabzi takes great pride in supporting the local community by providing progressive employment opportunities. With the opening of the new locations, Sabzi will be creating new job opportunities for Cornish residents, as well as promoting from within and encouraging long term careers within the hospitality industry.
