A Cornish farmstay has launched a new weekend package combining cycling with water sports.
The offer includes two nights accommodation in one of the 30 cottages at The Olde House and a choice of activities over two days from £96.00 per person*. Cycle the Camel Trail on day one; then choose from adrenalin fuelled water sports on day two including surfing, stand-up-paddleboarding and kayaking.
Jaime Hawkey commented: “North Cornwall has some of the world’s best surfing beaches, and guests often tell us that a surf lesson at Polzeath is the highlight of their stay. Another favourite excursion is a visit to the Camel Trail for spectacular views of the estuary, only accessible by bike or on foot.”
The Olde House in Chapel Amble, north Cornwall, has partnered with Bridge Bike Hire, Wavehunters and Cornish Coast Adventures, each established specialist activity providers.
On Saturdays, Bridge Bike Hire will supply bikes at their Wadebridge hub located on the Camel Trail. Guests can cycle 6 miles towards Bodmin and Wenford Bridge for a woodland escape, or 5 miles to Padstow for estuary views and award-winning restaurants including Rick Stein’s The Seafood Restaurant and Paul Ainsworth’s No.6.
On Sunday, guests can explore the beautiful Port Quin coastline on a Cornish Coast Adventures sea kayak or coasteering expedition. Alternatively Wavehunters at Polzeath will be providing surf and stand-up-paddleboard lessons or, for a chance to spot dolphins and seals, a safari boat trip from Rock or Padstow.
The Olde House activity weekends accommodate up to 12 guests making them a great option for a party of thrill seekers. The minimum booking size is two guests for couples looking for a Cornish staycation.
The package is available from May to October, excluding school holidays. Activity weekends can be booked by calling the office on 01208 813219.
